Ever wonder how Katy Crossing got its name? The Katy Crossing subdivision, located on FM 971, is named after the place where the Missouri, Kansas, and Texas Co. railroad crossed the San Gabriel River. Popularly shortened to MKT, the rail road company was often called simply Katy, hence the name Katy Crossing.
